The National Memorial Arboretum – Alrewas (Nr Lichfield).

Rain and wind stopped play (and flying) at Vintage Flying today, so we headed down the A38 to visit the National Memorial Arboretum.
We took some pictures but they really don’t do it justice. Everyone is warm & welcoming and showed great kindness. It’s a beautiful place, tranquil, moving, just the right balance of serenity and accessibility, and as the trees mature it is going to become quite out of this world. Disabled visitors are very well looked after, with the offer of a loan scooter, or a guided tour by golf buggy before we left the car park. We elected to walk & took the dogs and tried out the dog friendly cafe. Great cake. It’s about 30 minutes from the airfield by car (or 15 mins each way by Tiger Moth).
