The Use Of Drones Near Sheep. Please Read.

During the course of an enquiry this morning it was mentioned to me by a sheep farmer that the use of drones last year caused his lambing stock considerable distress at times. He’s fortunate to live in one of the most photogenic parts of the Peak District, but he still has a living to make and he doesn’t want to lose any lambs to people’s hobbies.

Please use drones considerately. There is legislation governing their use and Article 241 of the Civil Avaiation Authority states:

A person must not recklessly or negligently cause or permit an aircraft to endanger any person or property.

This includes livestock, of course. Further information on the regulations can be found on the CAA website and also many other websites which offer useful advice.

So please, continue to use them correctly and get us those tremendous photographs without upsetting the sheep at this sensitive time of year.
